Specifying Health / Financial Wishes
Many people in later life face the financial implications of moving into a residential home, an area where our team is fully experienced in providing practical advice. The rules for funding are complex and can change. Continuing Care Funding is paid for by the local NHS Primary Care Trust, but if a resident does not qualify, a Registered Nursing Care Contribution or RNCC assessment of their nursing needs is carried out to establish what level of contribution to their care will be paid by the NHS.
As care costs can be high, it is vital the correct assessments are carried out and the funding decision is correct. Mullis & Peake LLP can advise on the funding of nursing and residential care and assist with representations to the Primary Care Trust and the Independent Review Panels at the Strategic Health Authority. Remember, it is always easier to ensure that the funding is established correctly from the outset, so we recommend that you contact us before a person goes into residential care.
