How does having a development property and companies affect your divorce?
Acting for a husband in divorce and financial remedy proceedings where the assets included a development property that had speculative planning consent contingent upon acquiring some neighbouring land, where the value of the property was in dispute. The husband also had a number of business interests and had disposed of some shares, which the wife claimed had been sold for an undervalue. This involved detailed consideration of the facts and documents to be relayed to the Single Joint Expert and careful negotiation of the terms of the Letter of Instruction.
The business was conducted through a number of corporate entities, including limited companies and a partnership and required work with our accountant adviser.
