Movers & Shakers
Congratulations and Promotions – April 2024
Mullis & Peake LLP Solicitors are delighted to report that a number of our colleagues have been promoted with effect from 1st April 2024. The members recognise each of these individuals’ achievements throughout the last year and appreciate their hard work. All have made significant contributions to the continuing success of Mullis & Peake.
Jessica Thrower to Senior Associate Solicitor
Jessica has agreed to work toward becoming the head of the firm’s Family team within the next six months. As an experienced family lawyer Jess will focus on further developing the team and build upon their success.
Anne Wijayarathne to Associate Solicitor
Anne has been a model of consistency since qualifying two years ago, achieving financial targets every month, getting strong client feedback and building networking links in our Shenfield office. More recently she has taken on responsibility for compliance in the Wills & Probate department, overseeing the teams file audit procedure.
Dawn Verney to Associate
Dawn is one of our most experienced lawyers having worked in property for over 30 years. Throughout her time with Mullis & Peake LLP she has consistently provided an excellent level of service to our clients as well as adapting to changes and developments in the law and the way in which we work. She has also been invaluable in developing the residential team’s use of our specialist software. She is very deserving of this promotion and we look forward to her continued development with us.
James Bowles to Associate Solicitor
James has demonstrated a great commitment to the firm in regularly attending events, writing blogs and sitting on committees. In addition, he has been a vital part of the corporate team, assisting initially and now leading complex and high value corporate transactions. James is building his own client base and contacts and will continue to develop and progress the team.
Hannaley Palmer to Associate Solicitor
Hannaley returned to Mullis & Peake in June 2023 and immediately made a great impact on dealing with files, getting them in order and rationalising/redistributing work to the appropriate level. Hannaley continues to have a positive and can-do attitude, and as with all Court of Protection solicitors and paralegals, and just gets on with the work and helping clients. Having another person with expertise in Wills and Probate can be invaluable as it touches on many of our client’s affairs. The promotion recognises the positive impact on the Court of Protection department over the past year.
Muhammed Ali to Associate
Muhammed has developed his Wills work by making himself the firm’s leading trust expert. He is also taking on the project of expanding the firm’s offering into Sharia Wills.
Emma Boys-Smith to Solicitor
Emma Boys-Smith joined the firm in July 2021, initially as a Family Law paralegal. She quickly impressed with her hard-work, client care and skills as a budding lawyer sufficient to earn herself a training contract where she undertook seats in three other departments.
Her final seat was with Wills & Probate where she joined an award-winning team so the bar was set high but Emma was unphased and settled in straight away. She has proven to be very bright and able with consistently strong feedback. This made it an easy choice for the Members to offer her a substantive role on qualifying.
We are delighted to say that Emma will be joining the Wills & Probate department as a Solicitor effective from 1st April 2024.
We are all thrilled that Emma will be continuing her career with us and building on the strong foundations she has already put in place. She has a very bright future ahead of her.
