Our staff dug out their brightest spring outfits as we set them a challenge a little less ordinary...
Following the success of our charity fundraising Christmas dress day in December, we knew the bar had been set very high for our next fundraising event. Nevertheless we were determined to organise an event to raise even more money and as much fun as our last. And we succeeded!
Our ‘Eggstra Special Easter Eggstravaganza’ was organised to help raise money for our charity of the year, SNAP and was a huge success raising an amazing £300.00 in total.
Our staff took part in the fundraising and contributed by donating to dress down for the day, in the brightest clothing they could muster, as well as bringing in a wide variety of baked delights and selling them in our very own bake sale.
But the main activity of the day was our eggstra special chocolate egg decorating. But this wasn't just any decoration; oh no... We challenged our team to create edible staff portraits on their chocolate eggs! The teams were split into two, with girls against boys in our egg-off. Partners Samantha Hamilton and Melanie Carroll headed up the girls team, competing against Peter Connell, Martyn Trenerry and Andrew Fidler, for the crown, but who would win...
Both teams randomly selected a card which depicted who, from the opposite team, they would be create the portrait of onto their egg and all of their decorating apparatus was provided.
Despite being faced with cracking and melting catastrophes, the decorating efforts eggceeded all eggspectations…!
Robert Dennis of SNAP came to join in with the fun and said of our staff: “a huge thank you from everyone at SNAP. You all did fantastically well with your eggs and your cakes were delicious…The money raised will make a difference to the families who use SNAP’s services and we are extremely grateful for all of your support this year. Thank you so much, it means a great deal.”
The proud winning team on the day was The Girls Team! Special individual winners were also awarded to:
- Best Look-a-like: Martyn Trenerry by Ashley Avis
- Best Look-a-like: Andrew Fidler by Sophie Hector
- Worst Look-a-like: Robert Dennis of SNAP by Manzurul Islam
- Best Decorating Effort: Martyn Stevens by Karen Garbett
