On 27 November, M&P ambassadors visited Havering Christmas Land, the magical festive lights trail in Harrow Lodge Park run by local mental health charity Havering Mind.

The group spent the day supporting preparations for the attraction, helping to ensure the site is ready to welcome thousands of visitors over the festive season.

Volunteers swept up piles of fallen leaves, cleared pathways and generally tidied the area so it is safe and welcoming for visitors.

Even though the weather was cold, grey and muddy underfoot, everyone kept going with good humour and plenty of teamwork. Working side by side gave our volunteers a chance to do something practical in support of a local cause that means a great deal to the community.

The effort put in will help Havering Mind welcome thousands of visitors, raise vital funds and continue its work supporting people who are struggling with their mental health.

Thank you to everyone who volunteered, got muddy and still smiled for the photos – and to all who plan to visit Havering Christmas Land this year and support our local mental health charity.
