Senior Legal Accounts Assistant
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time Senior Legal Accounts Assistant to join our accounts department based in our main office in Romford.
The successful candidate will be working as part of a small but busy team dealing with all aspects of daily cashiering. This will include:
- Processing financial transactions on Client and Office accounts, to include receipts and payments via CHAPS, Faster Payments, International Payments and cheque
- Online banking
- Bank reconciliations
- Purchase Ledger
- Expenses claims
- Billing
- Dealing with enquiries
It is essential that you have experience as a Legal Accounts Assistant/Legal Cashier (preferably more than 3 years’ experience) and have a strong understanding of the Solicitors Accounts Rules.
You will also possess a good understanding of VAT and Anti-Money Laundering guidelines.
We are seeking a team player who can also confidently work independently, as you will be expected to oversee the day to day running of the department in the absence of the Accounts Manager.
Knowledge of Access’ Proclaim software would be advantageous but not essential as full training will be given.
Mullis & Peake LLP have a policy of Hybrid Working for staff in senior roles and this can be considered after successful completion of our probationary period once the candidate is proficient with our software and procedures.
Family Law Solicitor
A vacancy has arisen in the Romford office of our Family Department for an experienced Solicitor.
The role
To manage and develop a varied caseload of privately funded work including
- Divorce and civil partnership dissolution
- Private Children Act proceedings
- Financial remedy including complex proceedings
- Injunctions
- Separation and cohabitation agreements
- TOLATA
- Pre and post-nuptial agreements
The candidate
Will have
- the confidence and experience to build and maintain their caseload
- experience of dealing with complex cases
- court advocacy experience
- a proven track record of meeting financial targets
- an enthusiasm for business development and marketing
- a professional but approachable manner
- excellent IT skills
