Completions Manager

We have a vacancy for a Completions Manager to join our Residential Property team. Based in our Romford office the role includes:

  • Completing pre-completion searches
  • Drawing down mortgage funds
  • Requesting redemption statements
  • Producing invoices and financial statements including abortive bills
  • Dealing with leasehold apportionments
  • Setting up for completion and facilitating completion on the day
  • Producing post completion correspondence
  • Submitting stamp duty returns

The successful candidate will liaise closely with the rest of the Residential Property team as well as the Accounts Department.

Accuracy, attention to detail and compliance with our policies and procedures are essential for this role.

Dispute Resolution Department

We are recruiting for a talented, ambitious, and highly motivated paralegal, legal executive or solicitor to join our expanding team at our Romford office.

The team has a strong reputation and extensive experience in contested probate, personal injury, employment law, breach of contract and property litigation matters, particularly relating to the construction, betting and healthcare industry.

Within the Dispute Resolution department, the team includes two Members, one of which has been with the firm over 20 years.

The team is ranked in the 2022 Legal 500.

The Candidate We Seek

We are looking for a candidate who can cover a broad range of work across a range of the areas of practice offered by the firm, the candidate should be able to build and manage their own case load. Attention to detail to produce accurate documentation is of importance.

The candidate should have a working knowledge of some of the following areas of practice.

  • Boundary disputes
  • Contested probate
  • Settlement agreements
  • Low value personal injury work including use of the Claims Portal
  • Debt recovery
  • Residential property disputes i.e. section 21 evictions.

Communication skills are essential, the candidate should be able to deal directly with clients and opposition representatives and be able to advise both commercially and academically. The candidate will also support senior team members with their case load. The candidate will be expected to partake in business development including attending events, writing blogs and news articles.

Applying for a Training Contract

One of our main priorities in recruiting trainees is looking to the long term, we hope that the trainee will remain with Mullis & Peake LLP once qualified and be committed to the firm. We have a high retention rate of trainees with a number now members in the firm.

We recruit trainee solicitors annually with the training contract usually commencing around October each year. Trainees work in supportive teams and are supervised by either a Partner or Senior Associate. We actively encourage our trainees to get involved in marketing, networking, training and social events hosted by the firm.  The environment is an enthusiastic and friendly one and trainees have regular meetings with their supervisors.

We will be recruiting for the October 2023 intake; the application period will be between 1st October 2022 and 28th February 2023.

We are ideally seeking applications from those who have achieved a 2:1 (or higher) and who will have completed their LPC by the start date, preferably achieving a commendation (or higher).

The first round of Interviews will be held around mid-April with second interviews taking place a few weeks later.
