London Legal Walk Completed for 2024
Mullis & Peake ambassadors really enjoyed taking part in the London Legal Walk. We took the River East walk, which was a new one for us.
For 20 years the annual event has brought the legal community together to support free legal advice services. The walk is 10k in the centre of London to support over 100 organisations helping provide free or pro-bono legal advice to those who could not afford it otherwise.
As well as being a good team building event, it is also a charity event.
The funding gap for legal advice has nearly doubled to over £30 million in the UK and free legal advice providers are at breaking point with the growing need from their clients. Many people cannot afford legal help and without more being done, they will go without justice when they need it most. As the cost-of-living rises, the need for free legal help with debt, benefits, housing, asylum and domestic violence is now greater than ever.

£10 One-off – donation helps to train a volunteer to assist a vulnerable client filling forms to ensure they apply for the support that they’re entitled to.
£25 One-off – donation could provide someone in need with half an hour of expert advice from a volunteer lawyer.
£50 One-off – donation could enable one of our centres of excellence to take on a new case for someone who is potentially facing homelessness.
£100 One-off – donation pays for a legal advisor to represent someone in court or tribunal.
£250 One-off – donation helps keep a free legal advice line open for a week, ensuring that some of the most vulnerable people in our society have somewhere to turn for legal support.
