Walking for Justice: Mullis & Peake at the London Legal Walk
Every June, a powerful tradition unfolds in the heart of London. The streets come alive with purpose
1. Introduction to the London Legal Walk
The London Legal Walk is an annual 10-kilometre fundraising event organised by the London Legal Support Trust (LLST). Now celebrating over 20 years of impact, the walk brings together thousands from across the legal profession – judges, solicitors, barristers, students, and charity supporters – to raise vital funds for free legal advice services in London.
At its core, this event is about one thing: ‘Access to Justice.’ In 2024, more than 18,000 walkers raised a record-breaking £1 million, helping ensure that the most vulnerable in our communities are not left behind when they need legal help the most.
2. Why We Participate
Our Commitment to Access to Justice
At Mullis & Peake, we believe no one should be denied legal help because they can’t afford it. That’s why we proudly participate in the London Legal Walk year after year – to help bridge the ever-widening justice gap in the UK. With demand for legal advice surging and funding for legal aid falling behind, the charities supported by this event are more crucial than ever.
A Reflection of Our Values
We’re not just walking for a cause – we’re walking in line with our values. Honesty, integrity, and tailored legal advice are the foundation of everything we do. Taking part in this event is a direct expression of our commitment to fairness, community service, and the belief that justice should be a right, not a privilege.
Supporting Our Community and Profession
The London Legal Walk is also about solidarity. It’s a chance for the legal community to come together, united in action and advocacy, to protect and empower society’s most vulnerable. Our support extends beyond our clients to the broader community – and this walk is one way we make that commitment visible and impactful.
3. Our Involvement
Longstanding Commitment
We’ve been proud participants in the London Legal Walk since 2019, and our presence has grown steadily each year. Whether rain or shine, you’ll find the Mullis & Peake team out there walking for justice.
Team Spirit and Participation
In 2024, our team “M&P Ambassadors” took on the scenic River East route, soaking in the city’s historic landmarks as we marched with thousands of others for a shared cause. While the team size varies each year, our enthusiasm never does.
Focused on Impact
While we don’t set rigid fundraising targets, our campaigns focus on real outcomes:
- £10 trains a volunteer to assist clients with urgent needs
- £50 enables legal centres to help those at risk of homelessness
- £250 keeps a vital advice line open for a week
Every pound raised goes toward tangible change, and we make it easy for our supporters to contribute via our online fundraising page.
4. About the Cause
The London Legal Walk supports over 100 free legal advice charities helping people facing poverty, discrimination, homelessness, and domestic abuse. From housing and immigration issues to employment disputes and benefits support, these services are often the last line of defence for vulnerable individuals.
Your donations help keep these centres open, ensure trained professionals can guide those in crisis, and uphold the principle that justice should be accessible to all – not just those who can afford it. Click here to donate.
5. Thank You
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who supported us – your donations, encouragement, and kind words truly made a difference. We’re also grateful to the London Legal Support Trust for organising another incredible event.
