We represented a developer client in connection with the acquisition of part of a university campus which had old halls of residence on it.

The value of the case was approximately £3.6m and the purchase was on a conditional upon planning basis.  The seller had obtained planning permission for development of the site but advice was given as to how the conditions that this land was subject to could be satisfied.  The acquisition also involved the negotiation of a Section 106 Agreement together with a Section 104 Agreement.  In addition, the client financed the site and we dealt with the mortgagee’s solicitor’s requirements.   The conditions were ultimately satisfied and the client purchased the site and we are now instructed on behalf of the sales of the residential plots on the site.
