Happy Retirement Roisin
To celebrate the retirement of our lovely Roisin McCorry from the family team, we held a celebratory buffet on Tuesday 24th June in the Romford office.
It was wonderful to see so many people in attendance, with great food and lovely company.
Roisin is known for her reputation, she is a renowned family and divorce lawyer in the Romford, Havering and Essex areas. Someone once referred to her at a networking event as the Queen of family law in Essex and that seems pretty accurate.
After working in several local law firms, Roisin set up McCorry Connolly and they then merged with Mullis & Peake LLP Solicitors in February 2018 and she became the Head of Family team.
A hard worker, Roisin is a great leader and team player; she works hard to make sure she gets the best for her clients and the fairest outcome. She looks after vulnerable people and she isn’t scared to go up against anyone to make sure justice is done.
Straight talking and a bundle of energy, Roisin has made a huge difference to someone going through a difficult time and she’s been doing that for 40 years and this is why she is continuously recommended and referred to for family law.
As a head of department and as a colleague Roisin is unwavering in her support. You can go to Roisin with a professional or personal issue and she will always be able to help. She is a voice of reason, full of compassion but always has a funny story to tell. Roisin takes people under her wing, if anyone in our team has any kind of problem then it’s something we all pull together to resolve, if she hears of anyone struggling she’s immediately asking what she can do. Many of us will have felt the benefit of that kindness and generosity.
Roisin’s charity work is well known, particularly her support as a Trustee of First Step but she has always supported any charity work we do at Mullis & Peake and how she gets everyone involved and will do more than most for a good cause. The family team once hosted a bowling challenge against all of the other departments where she dressed up as an inflatable skittle. On another occasion the department put together a winter wonderland with Roisin as Santa and danced around the outside of the building and through reception singing Jingle bells – Santa with her elves!
Roisin has worked so hard, though we will miss her we wish her all the best for a restful and peaceful retirement.
