Three of the team at Mullis & Peake have entered a charity triathlon to help raise funds for Essex based charity, Little Havens.
Joanne Wood, Claire Savill and Rachel Crapnell have all joined forces and signed up to the FRP Advisory Charity Triathlon event, taking place on Thursday 9 July at Gosfield Lake Resort.
Joanne will captain the team who aim to raise at least £150 in sponsorship for the charity. Little Havens provides care for children who are life-limited, are life-threatened or have palliative care needs. What this means is that the child has been diagnosed with a condition, meaning that their life may be shortened. When a family has been told that there’s no cure for their child’s illness, Little Havens can help. They make the journey as comfortable as possible, controlling pain and medication, offering respite and caring for children at the end of their lives.
The event will be taking place in the beautiful surroundings of Gosfield Lake Resort, near Halstead, on Thursday 9 July from midday. It will commence with a 400m open water swim across Gosfield lake, which will be bravely undertaken by Trainee Rachel Crapnell. Rachel will then pass the baton to Licensed Conveyancer Claire Savill who will complete 20km bicycle ride before handing over to Associate Joanne Wood who will finish off the event with a 5km run.
Joanne Wood, Associate in the Commercial Property department at Mullis & Peake LLP Solicitors said:
“We are all very excited, if a little nervous, to be taking part in the FRP Advisory Triathlon.”
“It will be a large event with over 150 participants expected on the day so hopefully lots of money will be raised for this very worthy cause.”
“And, whilst we cannot claim to be athletes and admit we have little hope of coming in first place, we are still thrilled to be taking part in the hope of raising much needed funds for the hospice.”
