Mullis & Peake LLP received the accreditation for the first time in August 2011 and so have remained members for five years – what does CQS mean?
The Law Society set up the Conveyancing Quality Scheme (CQS) to provide a recognisable quality standard for residential property practices. Membership established credibility with other stakeholders involved in the industry such as regulators, insurers and lenders as well as providing reassurance to buyers and sellers.
There is a rigorous assessment to join CQS and this has helped to improve standards in the residential property sector, ensure greater integrity and deter fraud. Firms have to demonstrate that they follow best practice, meet the highest standards of technical expertise and are committed to providing an excellent client service.
CQS guarantees a professional and quality service, where firms will:-
-
Treat you fairly
-
Be polite and professional

Tell you about problems as soon as they arise
-

B. To be told what the costs will be
C. To be informed of progress
D. Work to be carried out in line with the standards of the CQS
